MRC/UVRI and LSHTM Uganda Research Unit, Wellcome Sanger Institute
The UGR is a genomic and phenotypic database established in 2011 containing genotype and whole-genome sequence data from ~7,833 Ugandan individuals representing 10 ethno-linguistic groups, with comprehensive phenotypic data on communicable and non-communicable diseases, cardiometabolic traits, and infectious disease biomarkers from the Uganda General Population Cohort. Data supports genomics research for disease susceptibility discovery and polygenic risk assessment in African populations.
